Healthcare Assistant (HCA) 3-Day Practical Training

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings for the Jayco Recruitment Healthcare Assistant (HCA) 3-Day Practical Training course.By requesting a suitability chat and securing a place on the course, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. Course Overview

This course provides CPD aligned training designed to support professional development in healthcare settings. Certificates issued include CPD learning hours based on taught and assessed time, excluding breaks.

This course:

• Provides practical training and competency assessment
• Is not a regulated qualification
• Does not guarantee employment or shifts with Jayco Recruitment

2. Suitability Chat & Booking Process

Places are not secured through direct online payment.

The booking process is as follows:

The candidate emails submits a form which is sent to adrian.whiby@jaycorec.co.uk this requests a suitability chat.
A 10–15 minute suitability chat is arranged (in person or via video call).
If deemed suitable, a Square payment link is issued to secure the place.
Upon payment, the candidate receives joining instructions and course confirmation.
Jayco reserves the right to decline course participation where the course is not considered appropriate or safe for the applicant.

3. Course Details

• Course times: 09:00 to 17:00 each day
• Duration: 3 consecutive days
• Maximum group size: 10 learnersThe course combines theory, discussion, practical exercises and scenario-based learning.

4. Assessment & Competency

Competence is assessed through:
• Observed practical assessment
• Scenario-based assessmentBasic Life Support and Moving & Handling are competency assessed and are not attendance-only certificates.

Course completion requires meeting the required standard in practical and scenario-based assessments.If a candidate does not meet the required standard on the day:
• Structured feedback will be provided
• A resit opportunity may be offered at Jayco’s discretionCompetency certificates are issued only once the required standard is met.

Certificates issued by Jayco include:

• CPD learning hours
• Course summary
• Trainer signature
• Verification ID

Recommended refresh period for Basic Life Support and Moving & Handling is yearly.

5. Alignment to Recognised StandardsThe course is aligned to recognised UK expectations including:

• Care Certificate Standards (Skills for Care)
• Resuscitation Council UK Adult Basic Life Support Guidelines (2025)
• HSE Manual Handling Operations Regulations Guidance (L23)Alignment does not mean formal endorsement or regulation by these bodies.

6. Employment & Work Opportunities

Completion of this course:
• Supports professional development and employability
• Does not guarantee employment or shifts with Jayco Recruitment

If a candidate meets Jayco’s registration requirements following training, they may be considered for suitable opportunities, subject to:

• Suitability
• Service requirements
• AvailabilityAll recruitment decisions remain subject to compliance checks and operational demand.

7. Fees & Payment

Course fee: £350
Deposit: £100

The £100 deposit secures the place on the course.Where payment is made following a suitability chat, payment confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

8. Cooling-Off Period

Where a booking is made online, a 14-day cooling-off period applies under UK consumer law.
If the course begins within the 14-day cooling-off period and the learner agrees to proceed, cancellation rights may be reduced once the course has commenced.

9. Cancellations by Learner

If cancellation occurs:
• Within the 14-day cooling-off period – a full refund will be issued
• Outside the cooling-off period – the £100 deposit is non-refundable
• If full payment has been made, refunds beyond the deposit are at Jayco’s discretion

10. Transfers

One free date transfer is available if requested at least 7 days before the course start date, subject to availability. Additional transfers may incur administrative charges.

11. Cancellation by Jayco

If Jayco cancels the course:The learner may choose:
• A full refund including the deposit
OR
• A free transfer to the next available course date
Jayco is not liable for additional costs incurred by learners (e.g., travel or accommodation.

12. Health & Safety

Learners must:

• Participate safely in practical sessions
• Inform Jayco of any medical conditions that may affect participation
• Follow trainer instructions at all times
Jayco reserves the right to remove a participant where safety standards are not followed.

13. Data Protection
Personal data collected during booking and registration is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Data is collected for:

• Course administration
• Suitability assessment
• Certification and record keeping
Only authorised personnel have access to this data

14. Amendments

Jayco Recruitment reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version applicable will be the version in effect at the time of booking.
