Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Manager for our client based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Our client provides fabrication and construction services for the offshore, oil & gas, nuclear, aerospace, transport, and architectural industries.
Responsibilities:
· Essentially you will have experience working in one or more of the above industries across the heavy engineering sector.
· From a welding, sheet meatal or fabrication background with project management experience.
· Finding out what the client wants
· Agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed
· Drawing up detailed plans for how to achieve each stage of a project.
· Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
· Ensuring that each stage of the project is progressing on time and to budget.
· Reporting at progress meetings
· Agreeing project objectives
· Representing the client’s organisation and interests
· Providing advice on the management of projects
· Organising professional trades working on a project
· Carrying out risk assessments
· Ensuring project aims are met.
· Ensuring quality standards are met.
· Familiarity with relevant engineering IT systems, carrying out progress reports.
· Recruiting specialist sub-contractors
· Monitoring sub-contractors
· Overseeing accounting, costing, and billing
Employment options contract or permanent:
· Rate or salary is negotiable dependant on experience.
· Long term contract (up to 2 years) self-employed.
· Long term contract (up to 2 years) PAYE
· Permanent with the following package:
25 days holiday
Monday to Thursday 7am – 4.30pm, Friday 7am – 12.30pm
Overtime available weekdays and weekends with an uplifted rate to be discussed.
