Machine Laser Operator

We are looking for a skilled Machine Laser Operator to join our clients team in South Tyneside.

Responsibilities:

· Machine Operation: Operate Bystronic laser cutting machines in accordance with job specifications and safety protocols.

· Setup and Calibration: Set up machines based on job requirements, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment for optimal performance.

· Material Handling: Handle and load materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate cutting.

· Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections of finished parts to verify accuracy and quality.

· Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth production flow.

Qualifications and skills:

· Proven experience operating Bystronic laser cutting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of machine operation principles.

· Familiarity with CNC programming and understanding of G-code is desirable.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and conducting quality inspections.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.

· Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

· Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labour as required.

· Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols and procedures.

· Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.

· 25 days holiday

· 8-hour shift Monday – Friday

· Overtime available weekdays and weekends with an uplifted rate to be discussed.

· Documentation: Record production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities accurately for documentation and reporting purposes.

Employment options contract or permanent:

· Rate or salary is negotiable dependant on experience.

· Long term contract (up to 3 years) self-employed.

· Long term contract (up to 3 years) PAYE

· Permanent with the following package:

25 days holiday

8-hour shift Monday – Friday

Overtime available weekdays and weekends with an uplifted rate to be discussed.
