CAD Engineer

We are currently recruiting a skilled CAD Engineer for our engineering client based in South Shields.

The candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining computer-aided design (CAD) models and drawings to support engineering projects and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD software, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

· Create detailed CAD models and drawings based on project requirements and engineering specifications.

· Modify existing CAD designs to incorporate design changes, updates, or corrections as necessary.

· Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints.

· Ensure that CAD designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

· Conduct design reviews and provide feedback on CAD models and drawings to optimize functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

· Assist in the development and implementation of CAD standards, procedures, and best practices.

· Maintain organized CAD files and documentation to facilitate version control and project collaboration.

· Support cross-functional teams by providing CAD expertise and technical assistance as needed.

· Stay current with advances in CAD technology, tools, and techniques to continuously improve design efficiency and quality.

Experience:

· Experience using AutoCAD is essential. Experience of Solidworks is desirable.

· Working with structural steel products ideally within the architectural / construction sector i.e. handrails, staircases, balconies, balustrades, or similar type sectors.
